I have converted some of my CDs into MP3 and stored them onto a USB key in directories reflecting the CDs.

However I noticed the following:

a) If the MP3 files are not tagged and the file names only are 01.mp3, 02.mp3 and so on, and I play all files on the stick then the MP3 Player supplied by MS plays the songs in numerical order, that as follows:

etc until all 01.mp3 are played and then this happens with 02.mp3 and so on.

b) If I name and tag the files and play all or a specific directory then the MP3 player does not care and plays all files in alphabetical order. As an example:

<div style="line-height: 16.7999992370605px;">01 All my loving.mp3
02 Ticket to Ride.mp3

03 Help.mp3

Is being played as

<div style="line-height: 16.7999992370605px;">01 All my loving.mp3

<div style="line-height: 16.7999992370605px;">03 Help.mp3

<div style="line-height: 16.7999992370605px;">02 Ticket to Ride.mp3

I have not added the number to the name tag and I also tried to use the track number tag to no avail.

The Ford B Max User's guide is of little help here.

How can I get the MP3 Player to play mp3 files in the correct desired order?
