The jet and rocket-powered Bloodhound will be trialled at the Newquay Aerohub in Cornwall at speeds of 200mph and tickets for the event will be available shortly.

The supersonic car is designed to break the world land speed record at 1,000mph, with high-velocity tests due to begin in Hakskeen Pan, South Africa next summer.

The trials in Cornwall will take place before the vehicle's airbrakes and winglets have been fitted, so the speed cap is probably a good idea.

Driver Andy Green will pilot the Bloodhound during the world record attempt.

It was today shown in fully assembled form for the first time, with the right-hand side fully dressed in desert spec, complete with forged aluminium wheels and aerodynamic panels, and the left in "naked" Newquay spec, meaning rubber tyres that can run on Tarmac and panels missing for easy access. The team also announced that it will be mid-October next year when Bloodhound will first turn its wheels on the 11.8-mile Hakskeen Pan in South Africa, the place where it will hopefully crack 1,000mph. The clock is ticking...
