Hi All,I have SYNC on my 64 Titanium X and from Oct 2015, when I bought it, SYNC has always connected first time to my Windows Phone or Apple iPad.
Suddenly about 2 months ago, the first time connection has become intermittent and seems to be getting worse. SYNC does not connect automatically and when I try to connect manually, SYNC finds the phone but cannot connect. At this point, if I try my iPad, SYNC also finds that but fails to connect.
Next time I use the car, it will connect perfectly with either.
I have followed all the suggested fixes, including a 'Master Reset' of SYNC but no change.
Is there a software update that might be more effective than a Master Reset?
Any ideas, please?

Yes, mine occasionally fails to connect first time, but will get there after 5 mins or so - ultimately if there is a fault, you have your warranty to fall back on.

I've noticed that my phone hasnt been found a couple of times, but then it connects straight away.

If mine is not found, then it will not connect until the car has been switched off and locked, then re-opened and re-started.

Thought I would share this. I called into my Ford specialist (not dealer), who supplied the car and he told me that there is a Main Dealer software update that deals with latest Apple/Windows/Android phone updates. However the Ford dealers only offer it on request. Mine is in next week. I'll report back.

Mine was delivered on 16/1/17, so I would expect the software to be up to date.

I checked the updates on my old Fiesta, which was delivered 31/1/12 and the updates for that one were all prior to the delivery date.

It may not be a realistic expectation as the car would have been in production prior to 16th Jan and possibly to a build, dated earlier. Windows phones have been updated since December, not sure about Apple or Android. If your SYNC is working fine, you may well be right but if you have any issues, it's worth asking the dealer.
