My 1.0 ltr Ecoboost is 2013, 22k miles and has had no problems. However, I was browsing the Ford Owners forum and came across this https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/95740-2013-10l-ecoboost-engine-rust-problem/?page=5

I inspected my turbo cooling pipes and they are rusty, quite rusty in fact. Since these pipes are pressed into the turbo body the whole turbo has to be changed to replace them. Ford are well aware of the problem but simply fob you off.

I have rubbed them down and Kurusted them, then painted with very high temperature paint and finally covered in Copperslip. They won't rust again!

The Degas pipe at the front drivers side by the intercooler was also rusty so that had the same treatment.

If the coolant is lost on these engines the engine is destroyed in seconds, so best check yours before it's to late
