My first B-Max,from surplus stock by Ford NL,produced in July 2017.It is a Titanium Navigation with 1.0 Ecoboost engine.
The color is Deep Impact Blue,i would almost call it Royal Blue,if you have ever seen the blue dress of our lovely queen Maxima you know what i mean.
I would have preffered Scuba blue as for my former KA Cool and Sound,but the range of colors for the B-MAX we found rather dull and boring,this was the best alternative.
I think my wife and i will be very happy with this car over the years to come.
Now we only have to wait for the first scratch,rather traumatic i believe.

Get a clear vinyl wrap on it. If you have the spare money. It's just a clear wrap.
Used to have a galaxy in grey. Beautiful colour etc but once scratched it sticks out thanks to the white undercoat. It always made me angry.

Now I drive a white car. No hassle with scratches. Can't see any, they don't stick out like a sore thumb.

Thanks Wazza.

We opted for a Ford Waxoyl coating,costing some euro 200.-.
Also took Ford Protect warranty over 4 years/80,000 km.

Deep Impact Blue is possibly the best colour in the range ive had a Panther Black a Red and an Impact Blue I now have a White one which is the worst possible colour you can think of it shows every tiny bit of dirt imaginable the Blue was our favorite colour

Given the choice, I was stuck bwtween magnetic and burnished glow. I chose magnetic, but there are a few orher nice colours available.

I never have white unless I have to as I find white difficult to polish and it gets dirty very quickly.

Dark colours watermark quite badly and black shows every little scratch.

Remember dirt is only on the outside.After a Dutch winter between early October and mid March any car looks dirty,so what?
My main worry is getting the alloy wheels clean after winter.

The pressure washer works best for me on the alloys.

I use Autoglym wheel cleaner with a long handled brush. Removes the most stubborn brake dust and dirt. I try not to use the power washer on my cars unless there is a lot of mud on them and then only sparingly.

I agree with you there Skelly. Pressure washing does remove polish and is not great for paintwork.

Ive never had so much brake dust like the b max creates though so pressure wash the wheels unless they are really dry, in which case I use the wheel brush.

Our 'new' (to us) B-Max is deep impact blue too - we were lucky to find it as a used car, as now that they have stopped making them, they're almost becoming collectors' items! I love the colour. I had a white KA before which was lovely when it was clean, but did get a dirty backside after driving up the motorway in the rain. Has anyone dealt with stone chips on the deep impact blue yet? Just wondering how well a proper Ford touch-up paint would work.

Never found a better way to cover stonechips than touch up paint. Most are very good on newish cars, but dont match so well on older cars where the paint has faded.

I usually use about 3 coats, then rub down with TCut after a week, then polish and wax.

It helps if youcan feather it in a bit.

Have fun with your Deep Impact Blue B-Max!

Dirt or stone chip damage does not bother me,a car for me is a tool to get around,not a diamond to lock away.
Ours is getting a shower at the petrolstation once a month,the alloy wheels i spray with a cheap alloy cleaner before the shower.
A bit of wear and tear is unavoidable,especially when parking your car at shopping centres,causing small dents in doors.
An used car is like the face of an older woman,little scars make her more beautiful.


I always maintained the view that repairs for us are more expensive than what they are for car workshops,little dents and chip damage they will repair after you traded in the car,and they will not charge themselves VAT for that,probably they let a young bloke in training do that at almost zero cost.


And yes,driving B-Max means you are driving something out of the ordinary!

Hi and welcome,

Although mine is 'Magnetic' (Stupid name for grey) and I cannot speak for the Impact Blue, I had to do a stonechip in the last couple of weeks. Now I have done them on previous cars with varying success, but the result on this paint was really good using Ford touch-up paint. I can only find the repair if I spend ages looking for it, and I know where it is.
