I am getting awhirringmotor noise when i shut the drivers door (intermittently).

Last about 2-3 seconds then stops. eveyrthing is working ok on the door switiches.


Any ideas folks ????

Only thing I can think of, that is happening there could be the automatic steering lock.

Page 85 of the manual :


Vehicles With Keyless Starting
Note:The steering wheel lock will not
engage when the ignition is on or your
vehicle is moving.
Your vehicle has an electronically
controlled steering wheel lock. This
operates automatically.
The steering wheel lock will engage after
a short period of time once you have
parked your vehicle andthe passive key is

outside of your vehicle.

It's not thesteeringlock that comes from under the wheel and only after a while.

Climate control dampers? what are they?


why does it do it every time you open n shut the door (say 10 times) then it wont do itagainfor days??

Dampers is my name for 'flaps' which shut off the interior of the car from outside weather influence via the air intakes and those which direct the air flow into the cab.

They all seem to move when I get into the car.
