I have just brought a second hand B-max. When I put the key in the ignition, the dashboard lights up and the headlights come on. Is this supposed to happen? I originally assumed I had some fancy automatic lights until I got flashed as my back lights weren't on. I find it hard to remember to turn them on when the dash board is all lit up and I can see a beam of light infront. I regularly get flashed for not having my rear lights on! Is there anyway to stop them coming on when you put the key in? or shall I just write myself a reminder and tape it to the dash!

Dashboard lights up as soon as you turn the key on all Fords now. My B Max and Fiesta both have it. The front lights are running lights and these are on all of the time. Volvo and Saab started this trend many years ago and most modern cars now have them.
