This may have been covered before, but i cannot find anything replated to my question on the forum or in the online manual i have for the B-max.
My question is -- What are the two small lights for on either side of the temp dial ?
Attached photo shows light illuminated on the dial, it seems to make no difference to fan speed, temp or anything else. The lights ONLY come on if i turn the temp dial fully in either direction, if i only turn the dial to it's stop position the lights do not illuminate.
Anyone know ?

I think this is maximum blowers and heat to the screen and the others idea max ac output

With the lights either on or off, it has no effect at all on the speed of the fan, temp output or heat to the screen.
There is also no effect on the cooling when on the ac side of the switch.
They must be there for a reason, i just cannot find out what .

it is in the owners manual,
this is on cars with 'manual climate control'

Temperature control: Controls the temperature of the air circulated in your
vehicle. Adjust to select the desired temperature. If you select MAX A/C, the
system distributes recirculated air through the instrument panel air vents. This
mode is more economical and efficient than normal air conditioning.

I guess fully clockwise it does the same, but with max heat to windscreen.

I saw that in the manual too, but lights on or off makes no difference to temp or cooling ( i've checked with a thermometer ).
I've come to the conclusion that it's a gimmick installed by Ford to "jazz things up a bit".
