My insurance is due soon for renewal, I always add legal protection which costs £25-£30 extra.

Thanks for the link John, I don't ever buy the Legal Insurance with my car, but always with my house insurance, but this free cover looks OK to me, I will have to consult some knowledgeable family members before I take it out.

Sounds like a 'No win no fee' insurance. The win of one or more claims from multiple claims pays for those not won.

I would imagine they would farm out claims from all over the country to legal companies based all over the country for a fee from them for every claimant passed on. A 'win' would then also attract a further fee from the legal company.

A 'no win' would be down to the local legal company taking on the case and generally from what I hear it is lucrative. So, the 'Free motor legal company' is on a no lose good deal.

Iv'e paid my fee, not sure whether I would use or not if I hadn't but would probably wait to get some feedback for a year. One thing to consider - £30 over a year is not a big outlay for certainty.
