Does anyone know what the humming sound is when first getting into the car? It only lasts for three or four seconds and is only heard when opening the drivers door. It's almost as if the car is preparing itself for warp drive, it's kinda cool though.

Diacriprion is a bit vague willow, but an electrical pump, fuel pump orcooling fan spring to mind, but last a bit longer than that.

There also seem to be a few clicks and hums at first as the systems and locking mechanisms seem to set or reset themselves.

I get that as well in my ecoboost 125. I just put it down aircon/numerous relays firing up.

Hi Willow, have been meaning to check this out for some time. Have just been out to the B Max and yep, as i opened the unlocked drivers door a short buzzing / whiring sound occured, no doubt the electronic locks, so would expect this to be normal for the vehicle.
