While waiting for my Bmax I read in the on line manual that the headlamp dip switch operated in the way I prefer, lift up for up down for down.
I think the manual is wrong as it operates like my wife's fiesta forward for up and down, not what I expected.......

I thought it operated in the way of pull the 'light stalk' towards you slightly for flashing your lights, or all the way towards you for high beam. Cancelling high beam would mean you move the 'light stalk' away from you....But if it's forward for
high beaminstead... that will take some getting used to...

Reminds me when I got my Hyundi, every time I went round round-a-bouts I would put on the windscreen wipers instead of indicating, because my previous car to the Hyundi, had the turn signal on the
oppositeside of the steering wheel...

I had the cleanest windows in Northampton...

A quick slight pull toward you gives a flash
, whereas a stronger pull toward you will change the light scenario low 2 high, high 2 low and visa versa for pushing away from you

No not on my 2013 build, you pull toward you for ALL (flash/dip/main), the switch does not go the other way at all
