I had an advisory on the MOT indicating that the flexible seal would soon need replacing. Ford will not replace just the seal and will only supply the whole unit at incredible cost.
There are after market kits available. However , one garage that I approached told me that such kits cannot be used due to the Euro 6 emissions requirements.
Does anyone know if that is true? I would have thought that all the magic as far as emissions is concerned happens in the Cat.

I think the ford part for the flexy incudes the whole catalyst assembly, hence the price.

you should be able to cut the pipe after the cat, and fit an aftermarket flexy, but I guess these are not 'type approved'. but should still meet the mot requirements.

something like

there are cheaper alternatives too if you trust ebay.
