Interesting article in May 2017 Car Mechanics Magazine about Ford 1.0 litre ecoboost. They say that it is a very high performance engine for its size so the oil and filter should be changed every 6000 miles similarly service interval should be halved from 12500. Are any BMax Owners Club members sticking to this? Relatively expensive oil at £10 for a litre?

I'm doing exactly that. Always changed oil on my vehicles at around half the recommended service intervals.

Maybe a case for it if you do a lot of short journeys. Othe than that, 10 to 12 thousand miles should be ok.

Used to change the oil and filter on my other cars myself a few years ago but leave it to a garage now. Much easier with their lifts so sorry cannot help.

Manufacturers service intervals are fine for the average driver. A bit more often will be beneficial, especially if you do a lot of short journeys. Annual service at 10k miles has been fine for me.

Ours is up for an oil & filter change. No manual available so is it difficult to get at?
Any help appreciated, Dave.
You don't say which engine you have.
However, for the Ecoboost, you'll need a pair of ramps to drive onto as the oil filter is high up to the rear of the engine.
Oil and filter change costs around £40-£45 and if you do it yourself, there's none of just sucking the old oil up the dipstick and leaving the sh***y stuff still in the sump!
In comparison to using a garage, a pair of ramps will pay for themselves in just one oil change.
