Isn't that a bit like asking if an apple pie is made from apples or cherries?

Nope !
I have an alloy wheel cleaning set to get rid of brake dust marks BUT it says not to use the product on aluminium wheels, only steel.
If wheels are aluminium the cleaner will blacken the alloy.

I have to say that I've never had alloys that get so black so quickly as my B Max titanium wheels. It doesn't help that the spokes are so close together either. I've used the alloy wheel sprays, which do a good job, though found pressure washing as effective. Just concerned as to whether pressure washing may cause damage to the valves and tyres over time.
