redfive Hi Willow, Ford scuff plates are only made from anodised alloy, do NOT cover the vunerable edge of the sill and are very expensive. I purchased a set of four stainless steel plates for only 20 + when i bought my B max in 2015, (see my earlier post) and
they protect the edge of the sills.

cianpars Mine came with the titanium x spec. I think they are stick on. If you dont mind generic ones, Halfords do for 5 or 10 each.

Willow Hi

I am considering scuff plates for mine. Are they stick on? My Ford dealer is asking around 70 for a pair, is this about what you paid?

MagicalGirl Are you in a hard water area? We get white marks too. You can get filter attachments for the hose pipe to get rid of a lot of them. Might be worth looking at.

What is the engine? Can't find any info unless I missed it

cianpars 5000 miles now on the clock and average mpg dropped to 44.9, but does occasionally tip over to 45 and back.

Still enjoy driving it and got used to using the ventilation system finding the max heat and max cool buttons quite useful when necessary.

Front brakes a bit squeaky at times and produce a lot of black dust.

Given the car a coat of autoglym paint sealant which is keeping the paintwork nice and smooth.

Keeping my motoring necessities and a few bits and bobs under the boot shelf means that I always have a clear boot and making a habit of closing the electric mirrors along country lanes.

Engine runs great with plenty of torque when needed. Do find careful clutch control is needed though compared to the Fiesta.

Front end getting one or two small stone chips which I need to attend to.

Have only needed to use the roof blinds acouple of time over 6 months. That quite surprised me.

Not sure if its my imagination, but the engine doesnt seem as quiet as when new, but perhaps its just because ive got used to the sound of it. Also a little more wind noise due to the less streamlined shape.

One or two back passengers have said that the ride is a little hard, but I do prefer stiffer suspension.

cianpars After a bit of gentle driving yesterday, ave mpg has hit 45 for the first time.

One recent discovery is that I had the satnav set to best contrast and having removed this, have noticed that the roads are more detailed, i.e. different colours for different road types of roads which was not evident before.

The need for heater and heated seats has now transformed into a need for open windows and aircon. Generally drive in town with windows open and use aircon over 40 mph.

Ive also discovered the max cooling and heating buttons, the latter also turns on the front and rearscreen heaters along with heated mirrors.

Stopped using DAB radio as VHF is a better quality signal and has better range.

Car is still going great and enjoyable to drive.Edited by: cianpars
