I have been self isolating past 6 weeks and my 1600cc powershift bmax has not been used .Tried to start it and zilch it will not start.I have had it on a battery charger and charged to 11.9v still will not turn over the engine just get a clicking noise.Any help would be appreciated.
11.9 off load is whey too low, leave it charging for another 24hours, also since it has been that low, the gearbox may have to 're-learn' stuff, also the windows may not open properly, and other stuff may have got confused. (ie central locking, alarm, and even the radio)
If a 24 hour trickle charge dorsn't work, I would guess that the battery is kaput, so a quick check of battery prices on the net is in order. Not sure who is still selling or delivering in the lockdown, but we bought a battery from Europarts for the Fiesta a few weeks back and they were competetive at the time and delivered by courier.
B Max Titanium X 1.0 125 bhp in Magnetic with built in SatNav and rear sensors.
And I am another. went to give the engine a few minutes run (after a few weeks without serious running time), and two tries and it started the dread 'clicking'. Got Ford Assist to arrange help, as my garage is at the bottom of a 1 in 3; and the AA came started her and pronounced the battery capacity down to less than 50%. Bit the bullet, as I am supposed to stay indoors, said new battery, but fit a higher capacity if possible.
I've always thought the standard battery was a bit wimpy, so with lockdown going on significantly longer I decided to reduce the potential for problems. The wrench's advice was to run it for 30 minutes per week, and stuff the stay in rules.
I accept that I got stung for the price, but as I had some credit built up, I could not be botherd to chase a cheaper option.
C'est la vie!
