Brake inhibitor issue on power shift auto

Morning all, was after some guidance if possible, I have a 2015 B Max 1.6 tdci with the dreaded power shift auto box, I have had so many issues with this car and 3 new gearboxes, anyway I digress, I have been having an issue with starting the car, basically it is not registering the car being in park to start the engine as you need to have your foot on the brake and be in park to start it, it won’t let me put the car into neutral or any other gear, on the dash there is usually a white box around which gear it is in and this is flickering on and off and then will not come back on, there is a sensor on the brake pedal? Anyone had this issue before?? Just wanted to ask before I ring the auto electrician in case it’s a quick fix

the normal operation should be
select neutral or park,
hold brake pedal
start engine

for the manual cars, its the clutch that has to be pressed.

but the flickering dash indicator will need looking at.

As far as the Auto clutch pack is concerned, is that sorted now ?
I had mine done last year, and touch wood, it's fine now.
