I got a Ford B Max (53 plate) The Symbol on the dashboard came up. It was a gear cog with a ! in the middle of it. On the Screen is a message which said engine malfunction service now

The car lost some power going up the A5 it can only do 50mph max. I took the car to the garage few days ago and he said that you leave it in 4th gear at 1500 rpm to clear its throat. I reversed my car on the driveway, stopped and tunred the ignition off and turned it on again. It is ok. What should I do?

We've had our 1.5tdci 13 plate B-Max for a fortnight and that message came on whilst driving to Devon this morning. Will be calling Arnold Clarke (who I bought it from) at some point to discuss....

Bought from a main dealee 2 weeks ago. They have to fix it and if they dont, you can reject the car and ask for your money back.

Arnold Clark have had the car today, shows no error codes, software fully upto dateand the car drives fine. Will hope to get the issue to occur again and then take it in however ive told them to keep the issue showing in their systems.
Will do some checking with the garage the car was serviced at earlier in the year to see what was changed. What's the interval for a fuel filter on a 1.5 TDCi ?

1.5 tdci engine, fuel filter change at three years or 37500 miles, which ever is sooner.

i happened to me when it was COLD outside yesterday in motorway when i was speeding at 180km/h .. switched it off waited 20 minutes and problem dissapeared...
as i read on other forum cause might be LOW fuel pressure because of the cold.... diesel filter probably must be checked and be replaced..
