I agree, I wouldn’t let just any garage to replace that clutch. It’s not like replacing the brake pads. The gearbox ECU needs to be re-programmed and few other things need do be done properly. Hendy gave me 1 year warranty for the parts and labour.
I actually called 6 different garages (including 2 automatic gearbox specialists) in my area. The moment they hear the word PowerShift, they all say the same thing: they don’t do them.
I guess there’s a reason for that. There are some independent garages “specialising” in PowerShift gearboxes, but they are quite far away and my car couldn’t make it that far with a broken clutch. Pain in the neck.
It’s all done now, I have collected the car yesterday and it drives as good as new. Yes, it is very disappointing as the car isn’t that old and doesn’t have many miles on the clock. Clutch is a major failure and it will make me think twice next time I’ll be considering buying a Ford. The damage for the brand is significant.
