Sat Nav upgrade

Looking for technical help on a 2015 B-bax titanium. Car had the Sony head unit installed from new but had no sat nav.
I managed to get a ford sat nav head unit with screen. I have installed the unit and all is working fine but I have no sound from the navigation. I have turned the volume up on nav and tried all setting but nothing. When radio is on and the nav should be talking the radio sound will go down but no voice from nav itself. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Yes I have sound from everything other than sat nav. Reverse sensors work fine and radio. When radio is playing and sat nav gives an instruction it will lower the sound of radio but will get no sound from nav voice. Have turned up the separate nav volume all the way and been through every setting on head unit to no avail.
